Past Projects
CU Boulder has competed in the US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon competition 4 times previously and have been crowned grand champions 3 times! A huge shout out to the the amazing professors, faculty, and staff that have always shown tremendous support, knowledge, and guidance. We are poised and motivated to continue the winning tradition at CU.
2021
SPARC House
Built in Fraser, CO, this innovative home helped solve the housing crisis in mountain communities of Colorado. This home employed high-performance, prefabricated wall assemblies and proved that heat pumps can be a reliable and efficient technology in cold climates.
2007
Another completed home was built and assembled on the Washington DC mall!
2005
CU Boulder repeated as champions in the 2nd Solar Decathlon competition in 2005!
2002
In the inaugural Solar Decathlon event, CU Boulder took home the first place prize!
